#Blogmas Day 14 – Happy Christmas Jumper Day!
Today, 14th of December thousands of people up and down the UK will start their day by pulling on a Christmas jumper for a great cause – to help create a brighter future for children.
Christmas is about eating mountains of delicious food and enjoying time with our closest friends and family.
But during these long winter months it’s important to remember those less fortunate ones, which is why charity events like Christmas Jumper Day. It is so important at this time of year as they offer the perfect opportunity to combine festive fun while doing some good.
The main focus of this day is to raise money and awareness for children in need.
Christmas Jumper Day was created by children’s rights charity Save the Childrenin 2012.
The aim of the event is to raise money by having people who are wearing festive knitwear on the day donate a minimum of £2 towards the organisation, and a minimum of £1 if participants are in nursery, school or a youth group.
You can also donate by calling 020 7012 6400.
Ever since its launch, the entire nation has thrown themselves into the festivities, with a number of high-profile celebrities showing their support for the initiative.
We also decided to support the ones in need and dressed up accordingly 🙂
