Schools are closed around the world and the pandemic situation has changed our lives completely. It is difficult for both parents and children to stay at home at most times and find the ways to have fun and keep the kids occupied at the same time.
As parents and children gear up to spend more time at home, Learning Resources has put together free home learning resources for families to support you through the next few weeks and beyond. Designed to keep children engaged and learning, they’ll turn this time at home into a fun-filled learning experience.
Whether you’re looking for expert advice, creative experiments or early learning activities to download and share, you’ll find our resources rewarding and fun. You can choose from the following activities:
- Maths
- Literacy
- STEM
- Coding
- Our World
- Early Years
- Educational Games
One of our favourite games are from the educational games. This is a Beaker Creatures Memory Game where you need to cut out the cards and place them face down. Mix them up and whoever finds the most pairs wins! We have printed this on A4 paper and cut them in peaces. We already love Beaker Creatures and this was so much fun to play.
You can also go for Coding games. Coding Critters Colouring Page is also super fun, you can show off your colouring skills with this fun picture. Again, I have download it from Learning Resources website and printed it so girls could colour them.
Another one of our favourite is the Animals Game.
More than 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by oceans! There are more than a million different species living in our oceans, and scientists believe that there are many more that haven’t been discovered yet! A species is a group of one type of animal. For example, there are many types of different whales; however, whales are considered a single species. Ocean animals are animals that live most of their life in the water. You need to look at the photos and try to remember and unscramble the words to find the names of these animals that live in the ocean.
With Easter just around the corner, you can also download and print some bunnies for your kids to have fun colouring them.
I would love to take this opportunity and thank Learning Resources for creating this amazing free worksheet for kids and parents which is very useful during this difficult times. When you can not simply go out and buy new toys, these are great resources to spend time and keep kids occupied and help them learn at the same time.
For 35 years, Learning Resources has been the leader in educational toys and games for children aged 2-11 years and has built up trusted relationships to help meet the needs of teachers, parents, carers and other learning mentors.
Please let me know if you have tried any of these downloadable resources, can not wait to hear your opinion.
I hope all of you are keeping healthy and safe!
